A Trip to Leh Ladakh, India

Ladakh is a true heaven on Earth. One of the great tourist place have beautiful Monasteries, thrilling mountain passes, picturesque locations. It’s interesting markets defining the culture of the place where you can have sensational momos, tasty Thupkas.

Leh is connected by Road and By Air from capital of India, Delhi. There are two road routes which connect Leh to Delhi. Delhi-Manali-Leh and Delhi-Srinagar-Leh.

I have been to Leh 7 times in last 10 years and have explored all the travel routes.  My favourite route is Delhi-Leh ( By Air) Leh-Srinagar( By Road) Srinagar-Delhi(By Air). So sharing the details for this itinerary.

Arrive in LEH by Air from Delhi and take rest for at least 5-6 hours to get acclimatized with the condition as you will move from 700 Ft sea level to 11500Ft Sea level. In the evening pay a visit to Sanchi Stupa which is surrounded by mountains and will give you some breath taking views of Leh City.

Leave from Leh to Nubra Valley thru Khardungla Top 18380. Ft height which is highest motorable road in the world. Enroute Nubra you will paas thru North Pullu and South Pullu where you can have some refreshment. After driving for about 6-7 hours you will reach Nubra Valley which is a cold desert. In Nubra Valley you can ride double Hump camels. Also this is the place where in one frame you can see desert, water, barren mountains, snow cladded mountains from your eyes. There are lots of camps for stay in Nubra. Generally all of them arrange Bon Fire in the night and you can spent a wonderful evening at Nubra.

Leave from Nubra and Reach back Leh. Have Some Rest and visit Leh Palace in the Evening.

Leave from Leh to Pangong Lake thru Changla pass  17688 Ft which is second highest motorable road of the world. It will take you around 6 Hours to reach Pangong Lake. Pangong Lake is approx. 134 KM long out of which approx. 60 percent is in Tibet/China. Pangong Lake is one of the most beautiful spot on this whole trip. Stay at Pangong can be arranged in Camps which are located on the banks of lake. In the night you can see sky full of stars.

Leave from Pangong Lake after Breakfast and Reach Leh. After having some rest visit Leh War Memorial. This war memorial is dedicated to our soldiers and every evening they have video show which will tell you how brave are our soldiers and how lucky we are living under their security.

This is the last day in Leh. After Having Breakfast leave for Srinagar. On the way to Srinagar first you will visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahab. This Gurudwara is managed by Indian Army and here you can seek blessing from almighty for your life. Next on the way is Magnetic hill which defies phenomenon of gravity. If you park the vehicle in neutral at a particular spot, it automatically start moving. Its said Hills in surround have high gravitation force which moves the vehicle. After leaving magnetic hill you will reach Zanskar Sangam Point. This place Indus and Zanskar river meets. Next stop on the way is  Kargil War Memorial. This is built in the memories of our soldiers who fought  in Kargil war against Pakistan. On this route you will also pass thur Zozila Pass which is one of the most dangerous road in the world. After driving for about 10  hours you will reach Srinagar. Stay at Srinagar in Night.

Take the flight from Srinagar to Delhi and you are back to your home with life time memories and Experience.
